Our little interlude at the Sandcastle B&B is almost over as we move to a furnished apartment for the next six weeks and seek out a more permanent home in the area.  Liana, Korbus, and Chantal have been so kind and hospitable that it will be hard to move on, but we'll enjoy having more space and settling in for a longer stay.

Here is our room, with the north facing window.  You can just see the door to the bathroom (we have one to ourselves!).

View from the balcony (and from our room).  We saw whales off in the distance just yesterday.  I'm told they calve all along this beach.  A sign further down identifies them as the Southern Right Whales.  Need to get out my copy of Moby Dick and look in the cetology chapter for more about these guys!

Here's a restaurant in Blouberg (just south of Melkbos) where we lunched last Saturday.  Melkbos, by the way, means Milkwood in Afrikaans--like the Dylan Thomas play.

View of Table Mountain (on the left under the clouds) and Table Bay from the restaurant above.  A very dramatic beauty here, a contrast to the quiet beauty (most of the time) of Lake Michigan!
